Hornets handedly defeated conference woe the Sparta Bulldogs on Thursday night, 65-32, improving to an impressive 10-win winning streak.
After an 8-8 tie in the first quarter, Nashville expanded its lead shortly before the half and never looked back. The Hornets continued to outscore the Bulldogs.
Senior Buzz Ritzel led all scorers with 27 points. Ritzel connected on 10/19 from the field, 4/9 three-pointers and 3/4 free throws.
Other scorers for Nashville include Saxton Hoepker with 11 points, junior Nolan Heggmeier with nine and senior Jaxon Goforth with eight.
The Hornet JV squad also won on Monday night.
Nashville has won its 10th game in a row and is 8-0 in conference play. Hornets defeated the Carterville Lions on Monday, 62-46. Ritzel scored 18 points in the victory. Others included Hoepker with 15, Isaac Turner had 12 and Colton Gajewski ended with 10.
The next game will be Friday at Carterville.
