A local winery with roots in Washington County was recently named Winemaker of the Year by the Illinois Grape Growers and Vinters Alliance.
The IGVA announced on its Facebook page the “passing of the torch” to Doug Palm of Twelve Oaks Vineyard in Carlyle. The presentation was held at Galena Cellars, whose owner Eric White, who won the honor last year.
Doug Palm and his wife Jodi are formerly of Nashville. Twelve Oaks has taken home two Governor’s Cups — a top honor in the state — for its wines in both 2019 and 2020.
“We are humbled to receive this prestigious award,” the Palms said.
