The Nashville Hornettes continued their roll on Monday, downing conference foe Anna-Jonesboro 15 to 5 in six innings.
Hornettes scored early with three runs in the first inning and held the lead throughout, scoring in every inning. The Lady Wildcats rallied in the second and third inning but Nashville stayed on top. After A-J’s scoreless sixth inning, the Hornettes tacked on four more runs to fill out the final score.
Several Hornettes had multiple hits. Jordan Donato had a single in the second and third innings and a triple in the fourth. Colleen Jahnke also blasted a triple in the fourth.
Nashville’s Josie Woodrome is the winning pitcher. She pitched six innings and had six strikeouts in the victory. Woodrome also scored a home run at the top of the fifth inning.
