Nashville blew past the Salem Wildcats in the first game of a double header Saturday morning, winning 8-2.
The Hornets scored in every inning of the contest, nabbing the lead back in the second and not letting go. Buzz Ritzel and Trey Reinburg each hit singles and then round the bases to make the score 3-2.
Logan Eversgerd’s double in the third and Gavin Baldwin’s single in the fourth would continue to add to Nashville’s tally marks. Ritzel would connect again with a single to drive in a run, and Bladwin opened the sixth with a home run to solidify the victory.
Nashville would lose in the second game to Salem, 10-4.
