A plane made an emergency landing on Friday afternoon in the area of Route 127 and Purple Martin Road near PInckneyville. No injuries were reported.
According to the Illinois State Police, authorities were called to the area for a reported aircraft crash. Kenneth J. Loggins, 61, of Jonesboro, AR, was flying a white 1973 A36 single engine aircraft when he reportedly started experiencing mechanical issues. Police say there was minor damage to the aircraft.
Both Loggins and a passenger –Goldie M. Loggins, 73, of Brockwell, AR — refused medical treatment on scene.
The ISP District 13, the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are reportedly continuing the investigation into the crash, which remains open at this time.
