Pinckneyville man charged with burglary of Nashville area pharmacies

Bail has been set at $50,000 in Washington County Court for a 41-year-old Pinckneyville man who was charged with burglarizing two Nashville area pharmacies this summer.

Herman Sims was formally charged with two Class 2 felony counts of burglary and two misdemeanor counts of theft. He was arrested Tuesday on a Washington County warrant charging him with the offenses.

Authorities state that on Friday, June 18th and Friday, July 2nd, Doehring’s Pharmacy and the Nashville Pharmacy were both victim to burglaries, and during each burglary, a male suspect had thrown a rock or brick through the glass to enter the buildings.. The suspect allegedly took several hundred dollars in Pseudoephedrine from each business.

According to online court records, Sims pleaded not guilty Wednesday and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing and first appearance August 3 with his court appointed attorney.
