Heat advisory in effect for most of the week

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for portions of Illinois and Missouri heading into the next week.

The advisory begins at 1 p.m. Monday and continues through 9 p.m. Thursday. the expected heat index is to include values up to 105 degrees.

The affected areas include southwest and west central Illinois and central, east central, northeast and southeast Missouri.
