The Nashville Hornettes sit atop the Deep South Volleyball Coaches’ poll.
The 2A Hornettes were voted the top regional team in the preseason poll, followed closely by Centralia (3A). According to Section618.com, Nashville collected four first place votes and higher marks on ballots to take their place in the poll.
Other SIRR Mississippi division teams also landed in the top 10. Pinckneyville was voted third place, Carterville was named sixth and DuQuoin took eighth.
The Hornettes open their season Tuesday with an away game against Wesclin.
