Team USA edged out the British team, 50-48, during the last game in pool play before the semifinals.
There are two local men on the team, Chuck Melton of Richview and Eric Newby of Godfrey.
Team USA is now 31-3 in Paralympic Competition and the Americans have been on the podium in every Games since the introduction of the sport at Sydney 2000. The medals include two golds (Sydney 2000 and Beijing 2008), two bronze (Athens 2004 and London 2012) and silver from Rio 2016., according to the team’s official website.
