The Washington County Health Department said there have been 19 new COVID-19 cases reported over the weekend.
The numbers for Aug. 28-30 included one aged 6 to 10 years old; two ages 11 to 15; three in their 20s; four in their 30s; four in their 40s; one in their 50s; two in their 60s; one in their 70s; and one in their 80s.
The health department also stated that effective Monday, masks are to be worn by all individuals over the age of 2 years old and who are medically able to while indoors in public places.
“There has been an increase spread of COVID-19 and this measure has been put into place to reduce infection rates,” the department said. “Hospitals and health care providers are seeing higher volume of severe illness to a point of having limited staff and resources available for any medic al situation that arises.”
At the state level, the IDPH has Washington County at a 7-day test positivity rate of 8.2 percent as of Aug. 27.
