WCHD: Cases continue to rise in the county

The Washington County Health Department announced Monday the reporting of 19 new COVID-19 cases.

The cases include one less than 1 year old; one who is 1-5 years old; five 6-10 years old; two 11-15 years old; there in their 30s; two in their 50s; three in their 60s and two in their 70s.

These cases were in addition to the 21 on Friday and 37 on Tuesday.

Officials reported two additional COVID-19 related deaths among county residents this week — a male in his 70s and a female in her 50s. The total death count for Washington County since March 2020 is 32.

According to the IDPH, Washington County remains in the orange warning level last week with a 10.9 percent test positivity rate, with 539 tests performed.
