Hornettes raise more than $4,600 for Lupus research

The Nashville Hornettes hosted a Lupus Awareness Night last Thursday night, which raised $4,625.

The night was dedicated to NCHS senior Addie Povolish, who was diagnosed with the autoimmune disease the summer following her freshman year, according to information shared that evening.

The funds will be donated to the Lupus Foundation of America Heartland Chapter. The T-shirt graphic was designed by volleyball player Ruby Konkel.

In other volleyball news, the Hornettes improved to 18-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play after battling back to defeat DuQuoin Tuesday, 23-25, 25-20, 25-15. Hazel Konkel had 16 kills, and Reese Varel followed up with 12. Daci Finke led with 18 digs in the contest.
