A dedication ceremony was held Friday for the press box at Hornet Field. The structure built in loving memory of Dr. Gary “Doc” Goforth, who was an avid support of the local sports programs.
Goforth was a long standing physician in the Washington County community. Other local accolades include in 2014 when Goforth was voted the Nashville Chamber of Commerce Volunteer of the Year. He had also been recognized by the Nashville Lions Club for his dedication to community athletics in 1979 . He died in April 2014 at 68 years old.
