The Washington County Health Department reported eight additional cases from Oct. 1 to Oct. 5.
The cases include three in their 30s, two in their 40s, two in their 50s and one in their 60s.
While the state of Illinois remains in red for high risk, Washington County had a 3.7 percent test positivity rate during the week of Sept. 19. The Illinois Department of Public Health.
While cases surged this summer, new COVID case reporting slowed down in September. There were a total of 158 new cases for the month, a decrease from the 211 that were tallied in August.
Here is a table from the IDPH about the last week of September. The seven-day rolling average for test positivity rate has remained below the 8 percent threshold.
