The Nashville Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its 2020 Volunteer of the Year — Jim Schomaker — during a banquet on Saturday, Oct. 23.
The event will be held at Nashville American Legion at 6 p.m. with a cash bar and a catered dinner provided by Buretta’s Bar & Grill beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Bo Meyer will begin his famous roast at 7:30 p.m. Live music from One Night Stand will follow. There will also be free shots provided by Schomaker Distillery.
The self-professed “Best Looking Man in Nashville,” Schomaker has owned and operated J&R Appliances since 1978. He is often the man behind the scenes for big festivals, the man who begins each day not knowing how it will end. He is the one many call when a heater or air conditioner is on the fritz and he is the one who many rely on to fix .
A banquet was originally planned for March 23, 2020, but was postponed because of the COVID-10 pandemic restrictions.
Tickets are $25, and they are available for purchase at the Nashville Chamber of Commerce office, 138 NE Court St., Nashville. You can also contact the Schomaker family.
