A Hoyleton man has died after a single-vehicle accident Tuesday morning in Clinton County, police say.
According to WJBD, preliminary investigation results from authorities indicate that Allen Weihe, 79, was traveling southbound on St. Rose Road when for an unknown reason, the vehicle he was driving crossed the center line and ran off the east side of the road. The vehicle struck a culvert, rolled several times and came to rest on the driver’s side.
Emergency personnel was able to gain entry to the vehicle, and Weihe was reportedly extricated and given aid.
A release from the Clinton County Sheriff’s office stated that it is unknown at this time whether a possible medical condition contributed to the crash.
