Hello and welcome to the final Feel Good Friday of 2021! Here are some good news headlines from the week:
Nashville Community High School Music Director Steve Browne will be performing at the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, CA, on New Year’s Day along with 300 other current and former music educators from across the country as well as Canada and Mexico. Click here for a preview of the performance. Mr. Browne’s group is featured at the 25 minute mark.
The undefeated Okawville Lady Rockets won the IHSA TikTok challenge. The girls also recently won the Mascoutah Holiday Tournament, besting Alton 65-58.
The Standard is about to turn 1! As we come up on our first anniversary, the staff at the Standard would like to thank all of you readers for your support. What started as an idea to continue local community journalism has grown and continued to grow. We have plans for bigger and more in-depth stories and features in the future.
