Nashville police arrest one following bi-county pursuit

The Nashville Police Department released details on the arrest of a Litchfield man following a pursuit over the weekend.

According to police, the NPD attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle on Route 127 during the early morning hours Saturday when the vehicle reportedly fled from police and turned onto the westbound lane of Interstate 64 from Nashville. Additional officers attempted to stop the fleeing vehicle.

Okawville Police deployed stop sticks near the Okawville exit, which then flattened on of the suspect vehicle’s tires. The vehicle continued on the interstate until it stopped just inside the Clinton County line. The driver was identified as a 33-year-old man from Litchfield, and police discovered several felony warrants for him out of Macoupin and Bond counties as well as Clark County, IN.

A 25-year-old female passenger of Trenton was found to have a felony warrant from Clinton County.

The male driver was arrested and charged with aggravated fleeing and eluding and driving while license is revoked. He also received several traffic citations.
