Washington County has two fair queens competing this weekend in Springfield for the Miss Illinois Fair Queen. Miss Washington County Fair Laney Renth and Miss Okawville Fair Queen Marlee Frederking.
There are 71 young ladies are vying for the 2022 Miss Illinois County Far Queen title during the Annual Convention of the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs.

The Nashville Junior Hornettes are returning to state, winning the regional championship at Nashville Middle School Friday night. The girls kicked off the number two seeded Fairfield, 43-15. Nashville will head to the first round of the Class M state tournament against Pinckneyville. The game will be held at Rend Lake College on Friday at 7:15 p.m.
