A winter storm warning has been issued by the National Weather Service.
In anticipation of the storm, both Nashville District 49 and Trinity-St. John Lutheran School have cancelled classes for Wednesday, Feb. 2, declaring the day a snow day.
Nashville Community High School has also called off classes due to the weather predictions.
Latest predictions have the advisory in effect from 6 a.m. Feb 2 until midnight on Feb. 4. It is predicted that heavy mixed precipitation is expected with a total snow accumulation between 4 and 7 inches. It is also projected that there will be up to 1 inch of sleet and three tenths of an inch of ice.
The storm may also bring wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour. The weather service advices that “travel could be nearly impossible” and that hazard conditions may impact Wednesday morning and evening commutes.
