Feel Good Friday: February 11

Lots to celebrate this week in the world of local sports so let’s dive in with this week’s Feel Good News.

First: Congrats to the Nashville Jr. Hornets on their Class M State Championship! Nashville beat Goreville to remain perfect (27-0) on the season. We will have a follow up story on the team in the next couple days.


The Nashville Hornettes won on senior night as they honored Alyssa Cole, Jordan Donato, Talanie Kozuszek, Hallie Rueter and Emily Schnitker.

The Hornettes (20-8) also this week clinched the Southern Illinois River-to-River Mississippi Division conference title. They went 7-1 this season, and the achievement marked the 23rd time that the Hornettes have won their conference. It is also the first title since the 2017-18 season.

Up next is regionals. Keep your eyes peeled for our postseason coverage.


Tickets are now on sale for the Nashville Chamber of Commerce Chicken & Beer Dance on Saturday, Feb. 26, from 7 to 11 p.m. at the American Legion in Nashville. The Beaucoup Bottom Band will be performing. Check out the chamber page for purchasing information.


St. Ann School of Nashville celebrated Catholic School Week all week. Check out their page for all of the fun festivities, which included a carnival.


Third and fourth grade students at Trinity-St. John were kings and queens of the snow mountain earlier this week.
