The Nashville Hornets return to the state tournament this week after displaying a strong defensive clinic in the Carbondale Super Sectional, downing Teutopolis 44-18.

Nashville shut out the Wooden Shoes in the first quarter and kept their opponent’s offense in check through three, allowing only two field goals and eight points.
Saxton Hoepker scored 12 of his game-high points all in the second half. Kolten Gajewski added 13 points.
“We have high expectations,” Head Coach Patrick Weathers told Section618. “We have a great community. We have a great history. We set these really lofty goals, and it is really, really fun when a group like this comes together at the right time. And you sort of check those things off the list.”
